Data Collection & Training

The hero of our technological story is the neural network. It begins with an empty mind – an architecture of millions of parameters, ready to learn. The challenge? It must understand what makes a typeface good.

Designers feed the model with thousands of historical typefaces, each carefully categorized by style, era, and purpose. The network analyzes curves, proportions, contrasts, and learns the invisible rules of good typography.

Generative Algorithms

The conflict arises when the model begins generating its own proposals. Not all are successful. Some letterforms are illegible, others technically impossible. This is where the iterative process comes into play.

Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) compete against each other: a generator creates new letterforms, a discriminator evaluates them. Through this competition, increasingly better results emerge until the generated fonts are barely distinguishable from handcrafted ones.
